Sachet Back to the site

Questions

The things worth knowing before you download it.

If something here is wrong or missing, say so and it gets fixed.

What does Sachet actually do?

It hangs a bag under your Mac's notch. Start dragging a file and the bag drops down to meet you; drop the file in and it waits there while you go and find where it belongs. Hover the bag and everything tips out into a row you can scroll, pick from, and drag back out.

It is for the middle of a move: the moment where you have the file but not yet the destination.

Do I need a Mac with a notch?

No. On a display without one, Sachet uses the same strip of screen the notch would occupy, so the bag hangs in the same place and behaves the same way.

What does it need to run?

macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. It is a signed and notarised app: no Gatekeeper warnings, no right-click-to-open.

Does it copy or move my files?

No. The bag holds a reference to the file where it already lives, so putting something in changes nothing on disk. Dragging a file out of the bag is a normal drag: the receiving app decides whether that means copy or move, exactly as it would from Finder.

Removing a file from the bag removes it from the bag, not from your Mac.

Does anything leave my Mac?

Your files never do. Sachet has no account, no sync and no analytics. The app talks to the network for two things: checking for updates, and checking a licence. Neither one sends anything about your files.

See privacy for the details.

What happens when I close it?

The bag keeps what is in it across quits and restarts. Clearing it is a menu-bar item away.

How does the trial work?

72 hours, everything unlocked, no account and no card. When it runs out the app tells you; nothing you put in the bag is lost.

What am I buying, exactly?

One payment of $4 for a licence key, and every update after that. No subscription, no tier above this one, nothing to cancel.

The key covers 3 Macs. Moving to a new machine is a matter of deactivating the old one.

I lost my key.

It is tied to the email you paid with. Ask for it again from that address and it comes back.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days, for any reason. There is a free trial precisely so nobody has to buy on faith, but if you paid and it is not for you, ask.

See terms.

How do I uninstall it?

Quit it from the menu bar and drag the app to the Trash. Its settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/Sachet.
